Ancient Fragments in Time
At first glance, these works look like rescued pieces of forgotten frescoes—crumbled edges, fractured surfaces, and the soft wear of centuries. In reality, they’re built from high‑density foam that I cut, carved, and intentionally “damaged” before assembling the pieces into new forms. Layers of synthetic plaster create the feel of old stone or crumbling plaster walls, and the painted imagery settles into those textures as if it has always belonged there. They’re part sculpture, part illusion, and part archaeological daydream. lighthouse, and the turtle glows in shifting colors controlled through a phone app. It’s equal parts whimsical creature and functional light.
