A night at the Theater

A photo of a coffee table that I painted that has a tortoise shell finish and a lace table runner and Broadway tickets, painted in the Trompe L'oeil style.

For this coffee table, I created a tortoise‑shell faux finish and then painted a delicate lace table runner across the surface, incorporating the client’s last initial into the pattern. Peeking out from beneath the lace are two Trompe L’oeil tickets to the Broadway production of Art, featuring Alan Alda, Alfred Molina, and Victor Garber—one of the client’s favorite shows. The result is a personal, layered still life that blends texture, memory, and illusion.
